What you see – If lush greenery and solitude is what you are looking for along with your meal, then Our Place will definitely make you feel at home. Located in Banjara Hills, it is the place where all exhausted souls can unwind after a hard day’s work.
Here you can find nature in its best form, whether it is in the rocks, the ethnic cottages, the landscaping or the air-conditioned alcove. The subtle lighting accentuates the serene atmosphere at night and even if you have kids to take care of, you can breathe easy as there is enough empty space for them to frolic around.
The fireplace or Segdi is the main attraction here and is a hot favorite during winters. The spacious lawn and the machans are awesome. What sets the mood, however, is the live music that is played here every weekend.
What you get – The restaurant offers a multi-cuisine menu which includes Chinese, Indian, Tandoori and Andhra fare and serves drinks as well. We experimented with the Lemon coriander soup, and Sour pepper cabbage and spinach from the Chinese cuisine, both of which are worth a try.
We also went for some authentic Andhra preparations as per the chef’s recommendation. The Palak kofta curry and the Methi chaman bahar is what we recommend from the menu. The Kodi pulao which is a typical Andhra delicacy is a must-have.
Our Place also hosts a myriad of cultural programs like ghazal evenings, fashion shows and theater. It also encourages art displays by amateur artists at its gallery.
The verdict – This place’s USP is its ambiance. Check it out if you are looking to have a quiet dinner with a loved one. However, non-vegetarian food is where the restaurant lags behind. It would also help if the restaurant could start catering and home delivery services.
What you pay for a meal for two – Rs. 700 (without wines).
